Motherwell FC ace Andy says things can still be Rosy for club this season!

Rose, speaking ahead of this Sunday’s vital home encounter against Celtic, said: “Of course top six is still a possibility. First and foremost we just need to get as many points accumulated as possible before the split.

“We’ll certainly keep fighting to get as high up the table as possible.

“We’re excited for the Celtic game for sure.

“Obviously we have a big week of training now.

“Players are playing for places. We’ve got to show a lot more energy and enthusiasm than we did against Hamilton.

“After a performance like that you really want to get back on the pitch as soon as possible.”

Australian Rose (28) was pulling no punches about just how poor Motherwell were in the derby loss at Accies.

“It was a really disappointing result,” said the former Coventry City ace. “Nobody in that dressing room was happy after the game.

“I don’t think anyone thinks that performance was good enough.

“For whatever reason we were second best on the day.

“As a group we’ve been able to really raise our expectations of each other this season and we didn’t manage to meet those. Obviously we knew setpieces were going to be a big threat for them.

“So it’s disappointing to lose one from a setpiece.

“But throughout the run of play we had plenty of possession but just maybe didn’t create enough clear cut opportunities.

“Not enough sharp interchange in play and not enough balls in the box, which is something we pride ourselves on.

“I think we certainly could have got back in the game at 1-0 down. Unfortunately we weren’t able to.

“Now it’s about reflecting on that tonight, putting it to bed and making sure we’re much better next week.”
