Bully Wee see off Shire challenge

Clyde’s kept their third place in Scottish League 2 with an impressive win over East Stirling at Ochilview.
The Bully Wee’s starting line-up saw the return of Brian McQueen and Michael Daly.

Hide AdKieran MacDonald put the visitors ahead after just six minutes with an well placed free-kick.
Stef McCluskey soon doubled Clyde’s lead when he go on to a long pass, and after his initial cross was blocked, he found the roof of the net from close range.
However, only a few minutes later Shire edged back into the match when Brian McQueen unwittingly deflected a cross past Jamie Barclay and into the net.
Barclay was then forced into a good low save by Scott Maxwell, but the Bully Wee responded again and and inch-perfect free-kick from Neil Jancyzk converted by the head of Daly for Clyde’s third.

Hide AdJuust before the break, Scott Ferguson was denied a penalty when he was illegally prevented from heading Stuart McColm’s cross into the net.
A fourth goal did arrive though. McCluskey got his second of the day with a fine 25 yard shot that looped over Grant Hay in the home goal.
East Stirling substitute Kevin Turner fired home an injury time striek to give the home side a consolation goal.
