Starring role for Lina and Weetabix at 2014 Games
Their pet dogs Lina and Weetabix played a major part in the spectacular curtain raiser when they led out the athletes.
A 40-strong contingent of Scottie dogs took part in the event and instantly became the biggest stars of the show.

Hide AdOne-year-old Weetabix led out the Lesotho team, while 10-year-old Lina represented both St Vincent & The Grenadines and Brunei Darussalam.
The dgs — along with owners — spent a week and half rehearsing for the event.
Graeme and his sister Victoria, both from Kirkintilloch, say they were blown away by the recption the dogs received.
Graeme said: “We really didn’t think the dogs would make this much of a spectacle, but they’ve been everywhere since the opening ceremony.

Hide Ad“They were even trending across Twitter on Wednesday night, so it seems they’ve captured the imagination of the public in a big way.
“It was an honour to be involved in the opening ceremony and a great experience.”
He added: “The dogs were really well catered for. They had a vet and an air-conditioned van when it got too hot.”
