Six of the best for East Ren bookworms
More than 40 children visited Giffnock Library recently as part of the Tesco Bank Summer Reading Challenge.
The aim was to get children reading six books from their local library during summer term and, with a grand from Tesco Bank, East Renfrewshire libraries were able to organise awards ceremonies to generate excitement.
This year’s theme was Mythical Creatures, illustrated by artist Sarah McIntyre.
Adele Mills, community investment manager at Tesco Bank, said: “It was great to see the children at Giffnock Library having so much fun through reading.”
