Shop unit back in use a year after tragedy
The premises, formerly Shah’s, has remained vacant for more than a year, since former owner Asad was murdered in a vicious racially-aggravated attack in March 2016. His store shutters came down and never reopened.
Kayden 2’s arrival has been met with appreciation by the local community.

Hide AdOne Shawlands resident welcomed the re-opening saying: “Losing our local newsagent, Mr Shah, last year was a terrible shock.
“Since the closure of his store under such tragic circumstances the local community has been waiting with baited breath to see what would become of the shop.
“We are delighted it has reopened as another newsagents, and we wish the new owners every success.”
The shop has now been fully refurbished increasing its size internally, and in opening, has brought back a much-missed local service.
