Family fun at Pollok Park

FAMILIES took advantage of the sunshine on Saturday as Pollok Park put on a show for its annual family day out.

Running for over 30 years, the free family fun day provides a chance to see the park’s inhabitants up close - from Highland cows to gobbling turkeys — as well as enjoy a wealth of entertainment.

The four entertainment areas offered parkgoers young and old a music stage, falconry displays, crafts, martial arts, dancing on the lawns, food and charity stalls and police dog displays.

There was also a children’s farm, and a chance to meet the Clydesdale horses and farrier, and of course, the famous Highland cattle.

The fun day has seen crowds of up to 40,000 in previous years, and, with the sun shining for most of Saturday at least, Pollok Park was the place to be.
