Worldwide audience for Mugenko Taiko drummers
LANARKSHIRE’S mesmerising Mugenko Taiko drummers - who take their astonishing show to audiences all over the UK and abroad - couldn’t believe their luck when they were handed the chance to perform in front of 300 million TV viewers worldwide.
The massive publicity boost for the hard-working Scottish ensemble came during a hectic four-day stint in Bahrain, where they were hired to play during the international Formula One Grand Prix events.
Mugenko member Shona Walker, 27, said: “What we didn’t know is that we were going to be performing at the winners’ podium - and that it would be broadcast to countless millions of people all over the world.”
The drummers are playing at Hamilton Town House tonight (May 1).
