Elvis — up close and personal

HE WAS the young boy from Tupelo, Mississippi, who achieved such worldwide acclaim he didn’t need to use his second name.

Legend has it that Evlis Aaron Presley only wanted to make a record for his mother when he was spotted by Sam Phillips at the latter’s Sun recording studios.

What happened since is a matter of record and popular music history.
