Pic of the Week: Launching shot put at 2014 Games by Ross Eaglesham
I took this image at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow 2014.
I loved the way the sun was backlighting the cloud of chalk but, more importantly wanted the shot in the same frame as the athlete’s face. Unfortunately, after many attempts I discovered this wasn’t possible so I took the shot from another frame and merged the two together in Photoshop.
Shot on a Canon 1Dx with a 400mm lens at f4, ISO 1000 and 1/1000th of a second.
