Motherwell under-20s recorded a comfortable 3-0 win at their Ross County counterparts on Sunday to reach the Youth Cup Final at Hampden.

Goals by Dylan Mackin and David Turnbull (2) sealed ’Well’s place in the showpiece for the first time since 1986-’87 when they lost 2-1 to Celtic at Fir Park.

Under-20s manager Stephen Craigan told MFC TV: “The last month or so has probably been the best we’ve performed; our consistency has been good as has our performance levels and you worry that the lads, being so young, may rest on their laurels a little bit.

“Credit to them though, they absolutely didn’t and went after the game almost from the first whistle.

“Overall, I think 0-3 was more than merited.”

’Well were due to find out their final opponents last night (Tuesday) when Hearts played Dundee United in the other semi-final. The final is provisionally pencilled in for Wednesday, April 27.
