Totally Locally Lanark launches this Saturday
Under the banner Totally Locally Lanark, the small businesses which are still the heart and soul of town trade are asking Lanarkians to spend their money in their own burgh.
The organisers are claiming that, if every Lanarkian spends just an extra £5 a week in Lanark itself, it will add up to a massive £2 million a year boost to the town economy.

There is to be a Fiver Fest with special £5 offers in most Lanark shops plus a shoppers’ Treasure Hunt and other special promotions.
Lanark-born life coach and best-selling author Ali Campbell will be in the Wallace Tearoom (formerly Daisies) to sign copies of his book Just Get On With It between 10am and 2pm.
Long term plans even include bringing back, after centuries, the town’s owm currency, the Lanark Merk, only exchangable in the Royal Burgh.
