Glasgow is a city that's constantly on the grow - the city is a shining light here in Scotland that draws folks in from across the world.

We all know about the rapid growth of the student population in the inner city and West End that is constantly adding new student towers to Glasgow's skyline - but today we wanted to talk about the developments that are actively expanding the boundaries of the city.

Our city has always been a welcoming one - anyone is welcome to become a Glaswegian, no matter where they're from. As it always seems to be, we're in desperate need of housing stock in Glasgow - so it's always a good idea to keep an eye on the new developments to see where and when the new homes are popping up.

Sanctuary Scotland is bringing 128 high quality homes for social and mid-market rent to Myreside Street in Carntyne. Delivered by developer AS Homes (Scotland), the properties are being built on a 2.48-hectare brownfield site which was previously the site of local steel fabricator, Brown McFarlane. The Myreside Street development has been designed by S2 Architecture and comprises a mix of properties, including 38 modern one and two-bedroom flats across four-storey blocks, and a total of 90 two, three and four-bedroom houses. Private parking is also being provided, with 151 spaces for residents and visitors, as well as on-site cycle parking.

Sanctuary Scotland is bringing 128 high quality homes for social and mid-market rent to Myreside Street in Carntyne. Delivered by developer AS Homes (Scotland), the properties are being built on a 2.48-hectare brownfield site which was previously the site of local steel fabricator, Brown McFarlane. The site at Prospecthill Road follows several phases of the developers' King’s View development in the area, and will feature a range of two and three-bed terraced houses and three-bed semi detached properties, all with private gardens. The homes will be built to Glasgow Gold Standard, with solar panels and air source heat pumps.

6. A bigger North Toryglen!

Cruden Homes has received planning approval from Glasgow City Council to build 56 new homes in North Toryglen. The site at Prospecthill Road follows several phases of the developers' King’s View development in the area, and will feature a range of two and three-bed terraced houses and three-bed semi detached properties, all with private gardens. The homes will be built to Glasgow Gold Standard, with solar panels and air source heat pumps.

The £527million Strategic Housing Investment Plan (SHIP) 2024/25 - 2028/29 for Glasgow was approved today (2 November). The city's SHIP - which sets out the priorities and resource requirements for investment in the city's affordable housing supply over a five-year period - will see more than 7,500 affordable homes built in Glasgow during that period through 185 development projects.
