Back Biggar toilets at tonight’s meeting
That is the message from one of the volunteers involved in the fight to keep them, in advance of the public meeting this Wednesday, May 27.
The toilets, like others in South Lanarkshire, are due to close as part of the council cutbacks, but the Biggar premises were granted a reprieve when local organisations investigated ways of saving them.

Hide AdThe favoured method involves an automated door, which would cut staffing costs, but funding would have to come from local supporters and any grants.
“We need the support of the businesses and community at large, if they want the toilets to remain open,” said Stewart Houston, pointing out that the town had been heaving with visitors at the weekend.
The meeting is in the Corn Exchange at 7.30pm.
