A fond farewell to popular caretaker
Robert McLachlan (76) says he leaves this job with a ‘heavy heart’ because he’s thoroughly enjoyed it and made many friends.
Robert, who was in charge of setting up functions, weddings and art exhibitions at Kilmardinny House, said: “I’m very sad to be leaving, I have a heavy heart, but it’s time for me to take it easy because I’m not so young any more.

“I will particularly miss Murphy the dog who comes to visit the house every day of his own accord.
“He’s such a lovely friendly dog and I’ve got to know him very well.
“I’ve also been lucky enough to meet some quite well known people such as BBC journalist Brian Taylor, well known politicians and local councillors.
