Window to the Past: Down at the Co-op
THE Co-op has changed beyond all recognition since the days of its founding in the early 19th century.
Today, you would strain to find anything in common with the Co-op of the 1930s, when this picture was taken.
The picture shows staff outside the Clarkston branch.
Back then prices better-reflected people’s ability to pay and there was no need for catchy taglines such as “Here for you for life”.
