Window to the Past: Bridgebar, Barrhead
This area of Barrhead was known as Bridgebar.
The building on the far left was one of the oldest on Glasgow Road.
During the 1950s and 1960s, it was known as Bennett’s.
The picture dates from circa 1920 and as you can see the horse and cart was still the preferred mode of transport.
