Motherwell Shopping Centre is gearing up for bumper crowds at its Good Friday Fun Day, when Nicky McDonald will star in a free show.
The X Factor runner-up and local hero almost brought Brandon Parade to a standstill when he switched on the festive lights in November.
The show, hosted by radio and TV presenter Gina McKie, runs from noon-2pm on April 3, and also features fellow Scottish X-Factor stars Emily Middlemas and Nicole Simpson.
Meanwhile, The McDougalls will be creating a “Eggs Factor” with special appearance from Morag the singing rabbit.
Nicky said: “I am delighted to be back on stage at Motherwell Shopping Centre.
“It is real pleasure for me to show my local fans how much I appreciate their support, and what better way than performing in the heart of the town”.
Shoppers will still be able to enjoy the fun as they visit the town’s stores, with ‘shopping lanes’ to help them avoid the anticipated crowds.
Centre manager Geraldine El Masrour said: “We had a cracking Easter last year, but this year could be eggstra special!
“We’re thrilled to have Nicholas back performing, especially as he will be appearing with Emily and Nicole.
“But with acts like that we have to plan for really big crowds.
“We are setting the stage further back into the space at the car park end of Brandon Parade and cordoning off shopping lanes between the audience and the shops to make sure everyone can move freely”.
The Good Friday Fun Day starts at 11am when Easter bunnies will start handing out chocolate lollies to local youngsters, who will also have the chance of free face painting.
