North Lanarkshire Heritage Centre in Motherwell is all set for some swashbuckling fun on Fair Monday (July 21).
The day is themed to the centre’s current exhibition, Pirates - Fact and Fiction.
Activities will begin at 10am and include outdoor games, a pirate-hunt, crafts, face-painting and storytelling.
CultureNL’s business development manager Laura Eales said: “With its enclosed garden and indoors space for crafts and other fun, the heritage centre makes for a great destination for family fun on Fair Monday.
“We invite visitors of all ages to enter into the spirit of the day by turning up as pirates or princess pirates - pieces of eight for the best costumes!”
Events will run to 4pm and admission is free, with a small charge for craft activities.
Pirates - Fact and Fiction runs until August 16 and is a fun-filled journey through pirate history, film and literature; from the Cicilian pirates of Roman times, to the ‘golden age’ of pirates of the Caribbean.
Meet Vikings, Barbary corsairs and Chinese pirates on the way and discover facts about their ships, weapons tactics and usually short lives.
