A witch tasks a childless couple with procuring magical items to reverse the curse put on their family tree in Into the Woods, released on Friday at the Showcase in Bargeddie.
Into the Woods is Disney’s modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales as James Lapine adapts his own book into a musical comedy which is directed by Chicago’s Rob Marshall.
Three days before the rise of a blue moon, a baker (James Corden) and his wife (Emily Blunt) venture into the forest to find the ingredients that will reverse a curse put on them by a witch (Meryl Streep) and restore her beauty.
Their search for the magical items - a milk-white cow, hair as yellow as corn, a blood-red cape, and a slipper of gold - lead them to meet Cinderella (Anna Kendrick), Little Red Riding Hood (Lilla Crawford), Jack (Daniel Huttlestone) of beanstalk fame, and Rapunzel (Mackenzie Mauzy), each on a quest to fulfil a wish.
Into the Woods is rated PG and runs 124 minutes.
