With the festive season around the corner Tramway presents Glimmer - a dynamic, feel-good show for all the family.
Starring two real-life sisters, Glimmer tells the story of one person’s journey to find the real meaning of warmth and light during the Christmas season.
Created by Glasgow based theatre company Glas(s) Performance, Glimmer is Tramway’s second annual winter season show.
Glimmer centres on the relationship of actual sisters Megan and Rosie Reid.
Megan can’t help but feel down about everything and feels no Christmas spirit at all.
It’s just as well her sister Rosie is there to remind her of the little things that offer a ‘glimmer’ of the hope and joy she needs.
Just as Megan feels she may never feel joyful again everything begins to change.
Glimmer connects with all communities, exploring universal themes such as warmth, light, love, and compassion.
The story is told through a mix of original stories and live music with plenty of seasonal magic.
Glas(s) Performance has an exceptional track record of producing high quality theatre for a range of audiences.
Recent notable productions include Chip, Life Long, Hand Me Down, and the large scale multi-disciplinary arts project Albert Drive.
The company also produces Junction 25, an award-winning collective of young performers based at Tramway.
Megan and Rosie Reid both attended Junction 25 and return professionally to Tramway exploring autobiographical material for Glimmer.
The Glimmer creative team will also hold workshops in local primary schools in the run up to the show.
Glimmer is at Tramway from December 10-21 with a preview showing on December 6.
