A small Cleland photography company has taken top honours at the Scottish Wedding Awards 2014, winning the Scottish Wedding Photographer of the year.
The Image Village was the only Lanarkshire company to be nominated for the awards and proprietor Stuart Kennedy was taken completely by surprise by their success.
The photography company was set up in 2011 by photographer Stuart Kennedy and his assistant Paul Kennedy and their wedding photography has been growing in popularity.
It was the icing on the cake when they found themselves in the frame for the prestigious title.
Stuart said: “We didn’t expect to be nominated in these awards, let alone win the title.
“The awards are decided by public vote and I’m really pleased that our work has been recognised in this way.”
Following the nomination of The Image Village, the first step was winning the South/West region section and this took them into the final against four other regional winners.
The award ceremony was held in the Crown Plaza, hosted by Gina McKie of Radio Clyde. Tension was building as the finalists waited for the results to be announced in 18 different categories, and there were celebrations when The Image Village name was announced as Wedding Photographer of the Year.
This was a great achievement for a company which was established only three years ago. This award will certainly enhance their reputation for quality work and increase the profile of their Cleland studio in Lanarkshire.
