All the fun of the fair

The Singing Kettle visits Motherwell for the final time next month when the Fantastic Funfair arrives at the Concert Hall.

For Lanarkshire’s own Anya Scott-Rodgers the announcement the company is to close at the end of the year came as a shock, but she is determined to go out on a high.

She said: “We’re all very sad about the news as myself, Kevin and Gary have so much fun, but we’re going to go out with a bang.

“This is an all new show and possibly the first time a funfair theme has been done, but it’s appropriate for Motherwell with M&D’s being nearby.”

Set in the neon world of big wheels, merry-go-rounds and helter skelters, join Anya, Kevin and Gary as they take a trip round the Fantastic Funfair on October 4 and 5.

Anya said: “Everyone can expect the usual Singing Kettle experience filled with magic and song ... we even get to go on a rollercoaster at one point.”

The Singing Kettle may hang up its lid in the near future, but Anya says it won’t be the last audiences see of them.

She said: “Myself, Kevin and Gary are keen to keep working together so we will be back in the future, just under a different guise.”

Fantastic Funfair is performed at 2pm on October 4 and noon and 3pm on October 5.
