Motherwell players take a break this weekend before their final push for a Champions League qualifying place.

Stuart McCall’s side earned a draw with a late Nicky Law goal against Hibs on Sunday to maintain their five-point lead over St Johnstone in the race for third spot.

That was their last game before the SPL split. With the Scottish Cup semi-finals taking place, there are no league fixtures this weekend and ‘Well are back in action on Sunday, April 22, when they welcome newly-crowned champions Celtic to Fir Park.

‘Well are at home again six days later when St Johnstone visit for a game that could prove decisive in the battle for third.

There are away games against Hearts on Tuesday, May 1, and Rangers on Saturday, May 5, before the season ends with a home fixture against Dundee United on Sunday, May 13.

There was an encouraging sight for the ‘Well support on Sunday when Steven Saunders made his first appearance since rupturing his achilles tendon in August.

The defender came on as a substitute in the dying minutes after Jonathan Page was sent off.
