Uddingston Community Sport Hub held a free family fun day last week to mark the start of the Easter holidays.

For four hours families were invited by the sportscotland funded organisation to Uddingston Sports Centre, within the Uddingston Grammar complex, to try something new with local clubs introducing a number of sports through taster sessions.

Those providing their services were the hockey, rugby, tennis and cricket clubs from Uddingston, while the netball and gymnastics clubs from Hamilton were also present as were Lanarkshire Lightning Badminton and Moorlands Boys’ Club offering football.

After trying the activities for a day, youngsters then had the opportunity to book further coaching sessions with the respective clubs, either at the school or their own base, for the remainder of the week.
