STRATHCLYDE Park Rowing Club celebrated a number of fantastic achievements as they hosted the Scottish Rowing Championships.
The club’s first Scottish Champion at the medal pontoon was veteran rower Tom Hewitt in the coxed fours event for rowers whose average age is 60.
The team were coxed by 12-year-old Bothwell girl Jennifer Ord who enjoyed success of her own in the junior under 12s single sculls, while her her brother Graham enjoyed a narrow win in the junior under 16s double sculls.
Hamilton College pupil Jan Meinicke continued his successful season with a wins in both the junior under 14s single and double sculls.
Other gold medals won by the club were in the veteran women’s single sculls where Gillian Price became Scottish Champion and the veteran women’s double sculls where Ailie Ord retained the title from last year.
Like her daughter Jennifer, Ailie picked up a second gold as the Strathclyde Park crew of Ailie, Hazel Gaddis, Gillian Connal and Natalie Irvine dominated the field in the women’s open quadruple scull.
