Youngsters at Vision Taekwondo hope to hit new heights with the help of a grant from transport operator FirstGroup.

The club, based at Wishaw Sports Centre, have been awarded £500 to buy kick pads and foam protection.

Youngsters aged five to 15 attend the club twice a week and in recent months have won five medals at the Glasgow Open and eight at the Scottish Open.

Ross Eden, who runs the club with brother Craig, said: “We are very proud of the kids’ achievements and now can buy more equipment to aid their development.”

The grant followed an application by ScotRail driver instructor Alan Marshall whose daughter Kirsty attends the club.
