BELLSHILL-based Prospect Boxing has announced its second show of 2013, ‘The Ack Man Cometh’, at Cleland Miners Welfare Club on Friday, May 24.
The evening will feature four fights, including the professional debut of Motherwell super-middleweight Alex Montgomery, aka Ack Man.
There will be a comedian and a meal included in the £35 ticket price.
This is Prospect’s third show in Cleland, the last being in December 2011 which featured Iain Butcher in his second fight and Daniel Micallef causing an upset by beating Chris Steel on points.
Promoter Paul Graham explained that he is looking to something different.
He said: “After the success of the ‘Steelmen Return’ show at Ravenscraig I wanted to get the ball rolling on the next show.
“While there are loads of dinner shows out there, what I wanted to do was take the format and see if we can do the same thing without the premium price tag usually associated with it.
“We’re planning four fights. We already have Alex Montgomery and Sean Watson on the card and hopefully I will be announcing more names over the next few weeks.
“The venue itself holds 300 people and I am confident we can sell this one out and it will make for a cracking atmosphere, and a great way to start the Bank Holiday weekend.”
Tickets are available from the boxers or by calling 01698 338888 .
