Three Newarthill ABC boxers represented Scotland against England in Sunderland earlier this month.

Dylan Arbuckle (15) from Carfin beat Levi Coates on an unanimous decision over the 3x2 minute rounds in this 45kg contest to extract revenge against an opponent who’d only lost two previous contests beat Dylan in 2010.

Arbuckle started fast and put Coates under pressure in the opening round and stayed in control throughout the contest

Heavy body shots forced Coates to try to stay at a distance, but Arbuckle proved too fast and cut him off as he moved around the ring.

Harry Carlin (15) from Motherwell lost out on points to Jack Dickinson in a 54kg contest over 3x2 minute rounds.

Carlin was scheduled to box at 52kg but his opponent called off and a replacement could only be found in the higher weight category.

Carlin found his opponent awkward to pin down, however enjoyed success with his body shots until Dickinson moved out of range, but gained great experience.

Stephen Newns (15) from Cleland won on points again against Freddie Young in a 60kg contest over 3x2 minute rounds.

Newns was caught on the counter in the first round as he pressed the fight, but regained his composure in the second round with some eye catching punches.

He saw out the contest with Young receiving a count in the last round to take the win.
