Scotland’s top Junior American Football team are on the lookout for new talent as they look ahead to the 2014 Britball season.

Despite an undefeated regular season to gain their second North Division Title, the Longhorns narrowly missed out on a Britbowl Final appearance after losing by just two points in the last minute of their play-off against Lancashire Wolverines Colts.

The team now has players moving up to Senior football and needs to re-build the squad in to compete at the same level next season.

Anyone aged 16-18 is invited to come along to Beltane Park, Wishaw on Sunday, October 8 at 2pm to get a taste of what it involves to play American Football.

The team will lay on a display of full contact Kitted Football before offering new recruits the chance to run through drills to test agility, hand eye coordination and tackling techniques.

Recruits will be given extensive coaching, while equipment needed to play for the team is provided by the club - you can register to take part on the team website

The Longhorns will also soon be recruiting in the 14-17 years age group, and interested younger readers should e-mail or visit Lanarkshire Longhorns’ Facebook page.
