Bothwell’s Kirsty Gilmour is bidding for a fourth successive women’s singles title at this weekend’s Yonex Scottish National Badminton Championships in Perth.
The world number 26, fresh from her successful defence of her Swedish Masters crown last week, is the clear favourite and begins with a second-round clash against Sarah Sidebottom.
Kirsty is also top seed with Imogen Bankier in the doubles.
Also taking part, fresh from his doubles success in Poland, is Motherwell’s Alex Dunn who is seeded 5/8 and is expected to face defending champion Kieran Merrilees in the last eight.
He will also team up again with Adam Hall, his partner in Poland, for the doubles.
