Motherwell gaffer Mark McGhee praised the physical fitness of his players upon their return to pre-season training at Dalziel Park on Monday.
“The players have all come back in very good condition,” the ’Well gaffer said.
“It was a breaking in session on Monday.
“We did a reasonable session without it being extreme.
“We did running and an hour with some body work.
“When I was a player we came back for pre-season training with 50 per cent body fat and it took us a week to run it off!”
Motherwell’s pre-season fixtures will be coming thick and fast in the next few days, starting with away games at Albion Rovers (3pm this Saturday) and Arbroath (3pm this Sunday) and a fixture at Cowdenbeath next Tuesday night, kick-off 7.30pm.
