JUNIOR sides Thorniewood United and Bellshill Athletic get back to league business on Saturday following their cup clash last weekend.
Thorniewood will out to bounce back quickly from their penalty shooutout defeat when they travel to face Girvan in a Super League First Division clash.
The Viewpark side are seventh in the 14-team table, four places above Girvan, and three points could go a long way towards helping to secure their Super League status.
The sides have already met once this season, at Robertson Park in August when they fought out a 2-2 draw.
Meanwhile Bellshill will look to build on their win at Thorniewood by climbing the Central League First Division table as they seek to avoid relegation for a third successive season.
They face landlords Vale of Clyde at Tollcross in what is technically Bellshill’s home fixture.
Bellshill are third from the foot of the table while Vale are rock bottom, having lost 11 of their 13 games so far.
The sides’ previous meeting, in September, ended in a 6-0 win for ‘visitors’ Bellshill.
Both Saturday’s games kick-off at 2pm. A bus for Thorniewood fans is being run by the club and seats are still available, price £5. For more details phone Ian on 07758 249811.
There were no winners in last week’s Bellshill Athletic lottery. This week’s prize will be £2,000.
