Josh Law insists Motherwell are not on a ‘revenge’ mission as they host Hamilton Accies in the Lanarkshire derby tonight.
Accies definitely hold the advantage over ’Well this season putting them out of the league cup and inflicting 4-0 and 5-0 defeats on them in the previous two league meetings this season.
However, Accies have not won since beating ’Well on New Year’s Day and Law could take plenty of positives from his side’s narrow defeat to Aberdeen last Friday.
He said: “There was a lot of positives against Aberdeen, I thought in the first half we were really comfortable and could have had another couple of goals.
“We forced Aberdeen into a change of shape and things were going well, but there was a mad five minutes and a couple of soft goals undid that.
“Now, we need to get back on track and eradicate that.
“We’ve had a couple of beatings off Hamilton as well as the cup loss earlier in the season, but we’ll approach it like any other game, not in terms of revenge or anything like that.
“We desperately need the win so will be looking to get our first victory of the season against them, we have a few players who didn’t experience the previous games so it’s a clean slate.
“Their form hasn’t been as a good since we last met, maybe their manager doing going down south had something to do with that, but we know they a strong side and more than capable on their day so we need to be right at it to get a result.”
