Thorniewood take on Kilsyth Rangers at Robertson Park on Saturday hoping to get their first league win of the season at the eighth time of asking.
The Viewpark side slid to the bottom of the Super League First Division table after last week’s defeat at Shettleston which left them with just two points from seven games.
United look set a for a relegation scrap in the coming months with Kilsyth, 11th with six points from six games, one of the sides they will be targeting in their bid to climb to safety.
Honours were even in league meetings between the sides last season - Thorniewood winning 3-0 at Kilsyth but losing 2-1 at home - while Kilsyth won 2-0 in a Central League Cup quarter-final.
Meanwhile Bellshill will continue their push for promotion to the Super League when they travel to face Benburb in a match being played at Ashfield’s Saracen park ground.
Athletic sit second in the Central League First Division standings, three points behind leaders Renfrew with a game in hand, after losing just one of their opening seven games.
Last season Bellshill lost 2-0 at Benburb but won the home encounter 4-0.
Both Saturday’s games kick off at 2pm.
Meanwhile both sides have been handed home ties in the third round of the Scottish Junior Cup.
Tuesday’s draw paired Thorniewood with Broughty while Bellshill will take on Downfield. Ties due to be played on November 22.
