Holytown Colts Youth Club held their third annual summer football festival, sponsored by Richmond’s, at the Keir Hardie Sports Centre recently.
Once again it proved a great success as 120 teams from 36 different clubs - Manchester and Campbeltown to Edinburgh and Glasgow as well as the local area - took part, meaning over 1,000 youngsters played over the weekend.
The tournament featured sections from 2009s all the way up to 2001, as well as a first ever girls’ section which was highly successful.
And feedback from the participating clubs has been so great that teams are already applying for next year’s festival.
Medals given out by representatives of the SFA and tournament sponsor Richmond’s, as well as local MSP Michael McMahon.
In the competitive sections Mossend won the 2001s with a 2-0 win over Milton Rovers in the final, while hosts Holytown Colts were 2002s, beating Eastend Colts 3-0.
And in the 20033s final Mossend emerged victorious again, defeating Holytown 4-1.
As well as the football the festival featured a wide range of activites for all the family, including music, stalls, rides, inflatables and a collection of items for Motherwell and Wishaw Foodbank.
