Thorniewood were plunged deeper into the battle against relegation when they were hammered 4-1 by Greenock at Robertson Park on Saturday.
The defeat - their third home league defeat in eight days - left them facing three vital matches as they bid to avoid slipping out of the Super League First Division.
Victory away to bottom of the league Lesmahagow tonight (Monday) is a must before the Viewpark side face a crucial encounter with relegation rivals Ashfield at Robertson Park on Wednesday.
Meanwhile Bellshill - bidding to move up to the Super League from Central Division One - ended a run of eight games without a win by hammering Maryhill 5-1 on Saturday.
However the revival may have come too late as Athletic remain fifth in the table with just two teams to go up.
Bellshill’s next game is at home to St Anthony’s on Wednesday night.
