Motherwell has moved to tie up two of their most promising young stars on long-term deals.
Winger Dom Thomas and full-back Luke Watt have both tasted first-team action and have now pledged their future at Fir Park until 2018.
’Well boss Ian Baraclough said: “This is very much in line with the clubs’ refocused strategy on developing young players and doing everything we can to maximise their worth, both to themselves and to the club.
“I’ve said continuously that a part of my remit is to ensure when young players develop through the ranks, there is a pathway for them to go and play, develop and kick-on.”
Meanwhile young midfielder Chris Cadden and gone on-loan to Albion Rovers until the end of the season.
Baraclough said: “Chris will be playing in a team full of confidence and if he can get vital first-team experience, whilst helping Rovers achieve their objectives, then everyone wins.
Goalkeeper Gunnar Nielsen has left the club by mutual consent.
