The Bellshill-born 19-year-old joined up with Paul Hartley's side in the summer and has made nine appearances since, scoring once.

He had signed up to play for the Aberdeen side for the rest of the season but has been recalled due to the Scottish Football Association’s suspension of games below Championship level being extended until at least Sunday, February 14, and possibly for weeks longer.

Semple, a graduate of the Steelmen’s academy, has made eight appearances for the Fir Park side since first turning out against Dundee in April 2019.
