The fixtures for the new season, announced on Friday, see Mark McGhee’s men take on the Ayrshire side, who stayed up via the play-offs, in the season opener at Rugby Park on Saturday, August 6.

The Fir Parkers’ first home match is against St Johnstone the following week. ’Well then face Rangers away and Dundee at home in their next two games.

The first derby match with Hamilton Accies takes place at Fir Park on Saturday, September 17.

Over Christmas and New Year Motherwell’s festive schedule gives them a home matches with Aberdeen on Christmas Eve, a midweek trip to Inverness Caley Thistle on Wednesday, December 28, and a Hogmanay derby against Hamilton at New Douglas Park.
