Thorniewood face a crunch game with fellow strugglers Ardeer Thistle as they continue their battle for Super league survival on Saturday.
The Viewpark side finally returned to action last Saturday after an enforced weather break as they played their first match since January 24.
But they went down 3-1 at home to Rob Roy to leave them still second bottom of the First Division table.
Saturday’s opponents Ardeer are two places and six points ahead of Thorniewood but have played six games more but are one of the sides United are looking to overhaul to reach safety so Saturday’s clash could have a vital bearing on who goes down.
Thorniewood went down 4-3 when the sides met at Ardeer in October.
Meanwhile Bellshill will be out to maintain their promotion push when they travel to mid-table Dunipace.
Brian McGinty’s side thrashed Vale of Clyde 8-3 on Saturday and are seven points clear at the top of the Central First Division table.
The sides have yet to play each other this season but honours were even in last season’s meetings, Bellshill winning 3-2 at Dunipace but losing 2-1 at home.
Both Saturday’s games kick-off at 2pm.
