Jerviston Boys’ Club’s under-13 side made a little bit of history when they became the first team from the club to reach the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.
They defeated Wolves BC 2-0 at Greenfield Park in Glasgow and will now face Tynecastle BC in March for a place in the final.
The rutted pitch meant Jerviston couldn’t get their passing game going and it took them time to settle.
Chances were few and far between but just when the first half looked like ending in stalemate up popped Callum Steele to head home an inch perfect Scott Hamilton cross.
Wolves raced up the park but hit the bar with a free-kick and Jerviston remained 1-0 up at the break.
In the second half Wolves pushed for the equaliser but Jerviston dug in, restricting them to long shots that never tested ’keeper Jonathan Rolwich.
Jerviston always looked dangerous on the break and five minutes from time victory was secured when Paul Reid who took the ball on a long run to the bye line and his low cross was turned into the net by a Wolves player.
