Watt, 26, initially joined in February 2020 on a short-term deal before extending his stay for the 2020-21 season in the summer. This season, he has scored four times to add to his six club goals in 20 appearances to date.

Watt said: “I’m delighted to have signed another deal.

“The club have been great with me and I was really keen to stay longer. I’m settled and I feel like I am getting better and better here.

“It’s home – and I’m ready to kick on even more.”

Sunday’s 4-1 home defeat by Celtic leaves ’Well seventh in the Scottish Premiership with 14 points from 12 games.

They next play in the league at St Johnstone on Saturday, November 21, at 3pm.
