Davies reveals the joy of Pearson's progress

Davies has given his first media interview in two years as he looks to get back into football following his dismissal at Nottingham Forest in March 2014.

The 51-year-old spoke exclusively to Clyde 1 in a question and answer session with Hugh Keevins which will air on Superscoreboard at 6pm tonight (Monday).

Keevins stated that football is about the feeling of enjoyment, entertainment, sending people home happy and asked Davies if he wanted that back in his life.

Davies, who also managed Derby and Preston North End, responded: “One great memory that I’ve got is working with a young Stephen Pearson at Motherwell, watching that young player develop and then watching that young player help a club achieve over £100 million prize by scoring the winning goal (in Derby County’s play-off final victory).

“That’s pleasure; seeing this young player coming through and that’s part of this industry that I love.

“I love to watch the progress of these young players. Work with these young players, work with these players, work with these teams, see them achieving things personally.

“See us achieving things together and the one thing that I try to achieve at every club is having a spirit and a togetherness that’s second to none and we’ve achieved that. There’s no doubt that has been achieved, but it’s things like that Hugh that bring a smile to your face.”
