John McDade and Paul Doherty scored in the 2-1 opening game win over Italy and subsequent wins over Serbia and Poland sent PPDi Scotland into the knock-out stages.

There they eliminated Germany 3-1, but were knocked out on penalties by finalists Bulgaria, making them the only undefeated side in the competition having drawn the
match 0-0.

The Bellshill office’s second side also made the knockout stages, but were eliminated by Serbia 3-2.

The Scots were 2-0 down before Vic Singh clawed a goal back.

Serbia restored their two-goal advantage before a late rally saw Iain Oliver send a looping header in to give them hope, but it was all in vain as David McKenzie’s effort for an equaliser came back off the crossbar in the closing

Italy defeated Bulgaria 1-0 in the final.
