Motherwell have been drawn against Russian side Kuban Krasnodar in the Europa League third qualifying round.
Kuban finished fifth in their league last season and added former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse to their ranks over the summer.
‘Well boss Stuart McCall admitted he isn’t familiar with Kuban, but will despatch Bobby Jenks to spy on them when they travel to Zenit St Petersburg on Friday.
He said: “They’ll probably know less about us than we do about them, but a dossier has been prepared and we’ll look into them a little bit more and try to be as prepared as we can be.”
’Well will host Kuban on Thursday, August 1, with the away leg a week later, but McCall insists he wasn’t bothered what way round the ties were, saying:
“I wasn’t bothered whether we were home or away first. St Johnstone showed by going away and being well organised what can be achieved.
“However, I’m sure Aberdeen will be happy we have to play them on the Sunday after coming back from Russia.”
