Motherwell FC great Joe Wark has died at the age of 67 after living with dementia in recent times.
Left back Joe, who made a record 464 appearances for ’Well between 1968 and 1984, is widely recognised by many ’Well fans as being the finest ever player to wear claret and amber.
He will forever be immortalised in the fans’ chant ‘Joe Wark Knew My Father, My Father Knew Joe Wark’.
The Times & Speaker staff pass on our condolences to Joe’s family and we’re thinking of them at this difficult time.
More reaction in next week’s paper.
