IT was a clean sweep for Lanarkshire at Wishaw Sports Centre as Iain Butcher, Kris Hughes, Steve Banks and Barry Craig saw off an international cast of opponents.
Butcher and Craig were making their professional boxing debuts on the Prospect Promotions card, while Banks was competing in his third fight and Hughes made his comeback after five months out with a broken hand.
Lightweight Craig, who lives in Airdrie but fights out of Forgewood ABC, started the show against Englishman Jason Thompson edging the fight 58-57.
Next up Scottish featherweight champion Hughes from Bellshill took on Syrian Youssef Al Hamidi, and despite questionable tactics from the visitor, Hughes won 39-37.
Motherwell light middleweight Banks made it three wins out of three as the Keir Hardie fighter completely outmatched Maltan Daniel Micallef and was rightly awarded the fight 60-54.
The only fight not involving a Lanarkshire fighter saw Georgian Levan Ghvamichava TKO Italian Giuseppe Lauri in the second round of their light-welterweight clash.
In the main event Motherwell flyweight Butcher made an explosive start knocking down Kuwaiti Anwar Alfadli just seconds into the bout and the Keir Hardie man continued on top for 40-35 decision.
