A procession through Bothwell and Uddingston by Yes supporters has been re-routed - because it clashed with a parade of scarecrows.
Freedom Convoy wanted to take 100 vehicles from M&Ds car park in Strathclyde Park through Bothwell and Uddingston towards Glasgow this Sunday lunchtime.
However, that would have clashed with the parade through the village that’s the culmination of the five-day Bothwell Scarecrow Festival.
An application from Freedom Convoy for permission was lodged with South Lanarkshire Council but withdrawn this week.
Local Tory councillor Anne Kegg had objected, citing the clash with the scarecrow parade. She believed the police were unhappy too.
A council spokesman said the Freedom Convoy organisers had withdrawn the application and arranged an alternative route.
