A GROUP of kind-hearted workers from a Eurocentral business have helped with the fight against heart disease by taking part in a charity run, raising over £6,000 in the process.
The employees of Mersen Scotland Holytown Ltd became heart runners in the Great Scottish Run 10k to help raise £6,701 for British Heart Foundation (BHF) Scotland.
The group also raised £540 for the Royal National Institute For Blind People through taking part in the run.
And it is not the only fundraising that the company has done this year as employee Eddie O’Donnell explained.
He said: “We decided to become heart runners because we recently met a fundraiser from BHF Scotland at a meeting in Eurocentral.
“We decided to take up the challenge and this was another opportunity for Team Mersen to continue to support charity organisations.
“Three of our employees recently walked 97 miles on the West Highland Way for Marie Curie Cancer Care and raised £511 which means that Team Mersen’s combined charity total has reached £7752.”
