A PETROL station worker in Viewpark was left badly shaken after the garage was robbed last week.

The 31-year-old woman was threatened by a thug armed with what looked like a knife last Wednesday around 11.30pm.

Police have launched an investigation after the man made off with a three-figure sum of money and cigarettes from the BP station on Old Edinburgh Road.

He is described as being white, 6’, in his early 20s and was wearing a black tracksuit top and trousers with a dark coloured scarf pulled over his mouth.

Fortunately the woman wasn’t injured during the attack, but was said to be badly shaken.

DC Mark Cummings of Bellshill CID said: “I would urge anyone who was in the area of Old Edinburgh Road around the time of the robbery and who may have seen what happened or who has any information that will help us with our enquiries to come forward.

“The area regularly has a high volume of taxis and there are fast food outlets across from the garage which were open at the time.

“Anyone with any information that might assist police enquiries should contact Bellshill Police Office on 202401. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
